UP Among the Top Universities in the World in 2021
According to the 2021 Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings, out of the top 1000 universities around the world, the University of the Philippines (UP) is in the 396th spot.
Furthermore, the QS World University Rankings 2021 features 1,029 of the most prestigious universities in the world.
In the 2020 QS World University Rankings, UP’s rank was 356.

QS World University Rankings 2021
The QS World University Rankings is an annual publication of university rankings by Quacquarelli Symonds.
According to QS, “this year’s QS World University Rankings reveals the top 1,000 universities from around the world, covering 80 different locations. There are 47 new entrants in this year’s top 1,000 while over 5,500 universities were evaluated and considered for inclusion.”
The universities were evaluated according to the following six metrics:
- Academic Reputation
- Employer Reputation
- Faculty/Student Ratio
- Citations per faculty
- International Faculty Ratio
- International Student Ratio
