[UPDATED] Total Active COVID-19 Cases in CAR Jumps to 26 as 8 New Patients Recorded Positive Today


The Department of Health- Cordillera Administrative Region recently announced that the Cordillera Administrative Region has recorded 8 new cases of COVID-19 patients today.

The breakdown of the cases are as follows:

Here’s what we know about the patients so far:

  • 1 patient from Benguet is a 22-year-old male from La Trinidad and is in stable condition;
  • 1 patient from Benguet is a 24-year-old male from Buguias and is in stable condition;
  • 1 patient from Benguet is a 37-year-old female from Bagto, Ucab, Itogon and is in stable condition;
  • 1 patient from Benguet is a 23-year-old female from Sayapot, Balili, Mankayan and is in stable condition;
  • 1 patient from Baguio is a 60-year old male old taxi driver from Honeymoon Road. He was among those who were tested last June 9, 2020, when the city launched testing among PUV drivers at the Baguio Convention Center. He is currently in stable condition;
  • 1 patient from Abra is a 28-year old female and is in stable condition;
  • 1 patient from Apayao is a 27-year-old male and is in stable condition;*
  • 1 patient from Apayao is an 82-year-old male and is in stable condition;*

*Note: Based on the official statement of the Provincial Government of Apayao, one patient is from the Municipality of Pudtol and the other from the Municipality of Sta Marcela.

Lockdown Orders

To facilitate complete and efficient contact tracing and effective isolation of suspect cases, the following areas have been placed under temporary lockdown:

Baguio City

  • Barangay Honeymoon (today, until further notice)

Benguet

  • Lower Balili (today, until further notice)
  • Barangay Ucab, Itogon (today, until further notice)

Apayao

  • Municipal borders of Pudtol and Sta. Marcela

Total Active Cases in CAR

Yesterday, it was also reported that seven new cases were recorded in the region. The additional eight new COVID-19 cases in CAR brings the total of active cases in the region to 26; Benguet having the most active cases with 11, followed by Baguio City and Abra, with 7 and 3 cases respectively.
