Spokesperson Roque Explains Testing and Quarantine Protocols for Persons Allowed Entry in PH
On a press briefing held on Thursday, January 28, 2021, Presidential Spokesperson Secretary Harry Roque, Jr. has announced that the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) Resolution containing the protocols for persons entering the country has been approved and is effective starting February 1, 2021.
As shown on his presentation during the online press briefing, the said resolution is the IATF Resolution No. 96, the “Testing and quarantine protocols for all persons allowed entry in PH”.
“Inaprubahan po ng IATF ang IATF Resolution No. 96. Ang nakasaad po dito ay ang bagong testing and quarantine protocols, epektibo po ito ng a-uno ng Pebrero. Ano ba ho ngayon ang ating protocol pagdating sa lahat ng mga dumarating sa ating airport? Lahat po, regardless of their origin, ay required po sila mag-facility-based quarantine, ito po ay epektibo Lunes, a-uno ng Pebrero,” said the Spokesperson Roque.

The Presidential Spokesperson further explained what was written in his presentation, saying, “Lahat po ng parating, 14-day quarantine pa rin po – five days po ay facility quarantine sa airport, makakalabas na po sila mga on the 7th day.”
“Bakit po? Kasi po 6th day iyong testing, kinakailangan po ng isang araw for the results, so pitong araw po silang maku-quarantine sumatotal sa facility-based quarantine,” Spokesperson Roque added.
Furthermore, the Spokesperson also emphasized that after yielding negative results, the quarantine will carry on for the next seven days.
“Pero pagkatapos po noon, sila ay negatibo, tuloy pa rin po ang quarantine nila for the next seven days doon po sa lokal na pamahalaan kung saan sila papunta. Iiendorso po sila at hindi pababayaan na basta na lamang lumabas,” he said.
