About the Medical Technologist Exam

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced that out of 5,401 examinees, 3,982 successfully passed the examination. This test was conducted across various locations including N. C. R., Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Koronadal, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao, and Zamboanga in August 2023. It’s worth noting that the results for two examinees are currently withheld, pending a final decision on their liabilities under the licensure examination rules.

The Board of Medical Technology, which supervised the examination, is composed of Dr. Marilyn A. Cabal-Barza as the Chairman and Dr. Leila Lany M. Florento as a Member. Demonstrating efficiency, the results were unveiled in just four working days after the last day of examination.

Successful candidates are scheduled for online registration for the issuance of the Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration from October 2-6, October 9-13, and October 16, 2023. They are directed to the official PRC website at www.prc.gov.ph for the initial registration process. Among the prerequisites for registration are a downloaded Oath Form, notice of admission, two passport-sized photos, two sets of documentary stamps, and a short brown envelope. It is mandatory for successful examinees to register in person and sign the Roster of Registered Professionals.

Additionally, those who did not pass the Medical Technology board examination but achieved a general rating of at least 70% can register as Medical Laboratory Technicians.

This dual achievement, both by the university and Sam Jeffrey Bitao Tiongco, is a testament to SLU’s commitment to academic excellence and its vision of molding future leaders in the medical domain. The entire SLU community rejoices in this significant milestone, anticipating more accolades in the forthcoming years.
