Panagbenga 2016 or the Baguio Flower Festival is one of the much awaited event in the Philippines, not only by residents in Baguio City but by tourists as well. Through the years this festival tallied record breaking attendance during the month-long celebration. Known as one of the most colorful festival in the Philippines the Panagbenga Festival continue to draw crowds from different parts of the world. The most anticipated events during the Baguio Flower festival are the grand street dancing and the grand float parades where the main streets of Baguio City becomes vibrant with the parader’s colorful costumes and stunning floats designed with flowers.

The Panagbenga 2016 theme is “Bless the Children With Flowers”. The theme denotes that the youth is encouraged to participate more in the festivities as the City Government of Baguio lines up several activities that would tap into the younger generation.
Panagbenga 2016 Highlights
The month-long festivities will kick off with the Grand Opening parade on February 1, 2016. During the Grand opening parade elementary schools will compete in the Drum-and-Lyre category where the winners will also perform during the grand parades.

February 14, 2016 is not only Valentines day but also the celebration of the family-oriented event, Handog ng Panagbenga sa Pamilya Baguio. This whole day affair includes the Let A Thousand Flowers Bloom an activity where families can enjoy painting on a canvass provided by the City. Another family-fun activity on this day is the Panagbenga Kite-Flying challenge where it is exciting both for kite-flyers and spectators. To entertain the crowd, a variety show will also be held during this day and capped by a grand fireworks display in the evening.

The streets of Baguio will become colorful and alive with the grand street dancing parade which will happen on February 27, 2016. Performers from the different parts of the Philippines will showcase their talents and their costumes as they vie for the grand prize.

On February 28, 2016 floats designed with flowers and other indigenous materials will definite excite the audience. The Panagbenga 2016 Grand float parade showcases colorful and creative floats made even brighter by celebrities.
