Palace Suspends Work in Government Offices in the Executive Branch Today




According to Memorandum Circular No. 80, work in government offices in the Executive Branch will be suspended from 3:30 PM onwards today, September 28, 2020 (Monday).

In the memorandum, it is stated that the suspension of work is ” Pursuant to Proclamation No. 60 (s. 1992) which declared the last week of September of every year as Family Week and in order to afford government workers and their families to celebrate, in their respective homes, the Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga Day pursuant to Proclamation No. 326 (s. 2012).”


In addition, it is stated in the memorandum that agencies with functions involved in the following shall continue their operations and render necessary services:

  • Delivery of basic and health services
  • Preparedness/response to disasters and calamities
  • Performance of other vital services


Furthermore, to afford all Filipino families the full opportunity to celebrate the Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga Day, suspension of work is encouraged in the following:

  • Other branches of government
  • Independent commissions or bodies
  • Private sector
