By New Schedule for Panagbenga 2020 Events
The Panagbenga 2020 is CANCELLED
The Baguio Flower Festival Foundation Inc. (BFFFI), together with the city government of Baguio, has officially released a new schedule for the Panagbenga 2020 celebration during a press conference this morning.
Earlier this year, the festival organizers and the city government have decided to cancel the Panagbenga Grand Opening Parade and government-sponsored events under the festival due to the 2019 Novel Corona Virus (nCoV) scare that has strongly affected the Philippines and the rest of the world.
PANAGBENGA 2020 HIGHLIGHTS
According to BFFFI, the Grand Opening Parade, originally set to happen last February 1, 2020, will be moved to March 21, 2020. This was done to allow the panic over 2019-nCoV to normalize and to pave way for the assessment of the country’s situation on the virus.
Moreover, the most-awaited Grand Street Dance and Float Parades will now be held on March 28 and 29, 2020 respectively. Take note, however, that the schedule of the grand parades will still be dependent on any advisories to be released by the Department of Health (D.O.H.).
On the other hand, Session Road in Bloom, which will be a weeklong closure of the city’s main thoroughfare to pave way for an exhibit of creativity and a variety of products, will be rescheduled to March 30 to April 5, 2020.
