Low Pressure Area developed into a Tropical Depression




The low-pressure area located west of Zambales has developed into a tropical depression. At 4:00 AM today June 29, 2022, tropical depression “Caloy” was estimated at 395km west of Iba, Zambales (15.3°N, 116.3°E).

Tropical Depression “Caloy” has a maximum sustained winds of 45km/h near the center and with gustiness of up to 55km/h. Tropical Depression “Caloy” is moving in a westward direction slowly.

Tropical depression “Caloy” will enhance the southwest monsoon which will bring rains to most parts of Luzon and some parts of Visayas and Mindanao. No tropical cyclone wind signal is currently hoisted for this tropical depression. Tropical Depression “Caloy” is forecasted to move north northwest on Thursday and westward on Friday.

Baguio City is forecasted to experience cloudy skies with rain showers and thunderstorms due to the monsoon trough / southwest monsoon. Light to moderate winds are blowing from the southeast.
