Kennon Road will open this weekend

Kennon Road will be open today, November 22, 2019 at 6 PM until Monday, November 25, 2019 at 6 PM.

This is agreed upon by OCD-CAR and Task Force Kennon in response to City Mayor Benjamin Magalong’s request to provide an open window for Kennon Road to open during the weekends to ease the traffic situation along Marcos Highway and the Tubao – Asin -Nangalisan Road during these times when tourists flock to the city.

The road will be open only to one-way traffic (going to Baguio City) for light vehicles weighing 5 tons and below.

Private vehicles to pass by the said road are advised to keep the speed limit of 20kph and follow other traffic rules especially if they have plans to stop at the Lion’s Head. Also, it is advised that vehicles going up should stay on the right lane to give way to residents (along Kennon Road) who are using the other lane.

Reminder for tourists

Tourists who want to go down to the Lion’s Head to take photos are advised to get clearance from the checkpoint at Camp 8 view deck.
NOTE: You will be allowed to go to the Lion’s Head after leaving a valid ID or your driver’s license and return to retrieve your ID after your visit to the Lion’s Head.
