The Cordillera Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CRDRRMC) and the Office of the Civil Defense Cordillera Administrative Region (OCD-CAR) has released a public advisory regarding the closure of Kennon Road.
According to the advisory released today at 4:00 PM, Kennon Road is closed to traffic, effective immediately.
The decision was made by the Joint Inter-Agency Task Force (JIATF) Kennon due to the looming risks that may be brought about by the rains caused by the Southwest Monsoon that is currently affecting the entire Cordillera region. Tuba Municipal Police Station (Tuba MPS) also reported moderate to heavy rains along Kennon Road which may trigger landslides and rock falls in the area.
In consideration to the safety of all motorists and the general public, Kennon Road is closed until further notice. Non-resident motorists are advised to pass thru the following roads:
- Marcos Highway
- Baguio-Bauang Road (Naguilian Road)
