July 15 declared as Special Non-Working Day in CAR

Malacañang declares Friday, July 15, 2022, a special non-working day in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR). According to Proclamation No. 4, the special non-working day is in celebration of the region’s 35th Founding Anniversary.

“It is but fitting and proper that the people of the CAR be given full opportunity to celebrate and participate in the occasion with appropriate ceremonies, subject to the public health measures of the national government,” according to the proclamation.

This year’s theme for the month-long celebration is “One Autonomous Cordillera: Ensuring Social Development and Inclusive Growth in the New Normal” with Mountain Province as the host.

The Cordillera Administrative Region was created as a special temporary administrative region on July 15, 1987, through Executive Order 220 by President Corazon Aquino.
