Free Wi-Fi Now Available at the Benguet Provincial Capitol at La Trinidad



Want to access free wi-fi? There’s a new one available at La Trinidad, Benguet!

Through the Free Wi-Fi for All or the FW4A (#freewifi4all) Program of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) of the Province of Benguet, free Wi-Fi is now available at the Benguet Provincial Capitol in the municipality of La Trinidad.

“This program aims to accelerate the government’s efforts in enhancing internet accessibility for Filipinos by providing internet connectivity in public places across the Philippines,” stated the Benguet Emergency Operations Center Public Information Office (PIO – Benguet EOC) and the DICT on separate Facebook posts.

The Free Wi-Fi for All Program

According to the Department of Information and Communications Technology, Free Wi-Fi for All Program is among their flagship programs.  The aim of the program is to provide free internet access in public places nationwide, pursuant to Republic Act 10929 also known as the Free Internet Access in Public Places Act.

Furthermore, Secretary Gregorio Honasan II, through the press release published by the DICT on Monday, January 4, 2021, said “This program is instrumental to fulfilling the marching orders given by the President to DICT, upon our assumption last July 2019, which includes connecting every Filipino to each other, to their government, and to the world.”
