Employers are Encouraged to Utilize Alternative Work Arrangements for Most-at-Risk Employees
Baguio Mayor Benjamin Magalong has issued an advisory on Reducing Contact for Most-at-Risk Employees at the workplace yesterday, August 24, 2020
According to the advisory, most-at-risk employees and their employers must take greater steps to ensure health and safety in the work environment. Pursuant to the Department of Trade and Industry – Department of Labor and Employment (DTI-DOLE) Joint Memorandum Circular No. 20-04-A,
- Work-from-home schemes
- Staggered work hours
- Compressed work week schedules
The following work arrangements above are for the those in the workforce who are:
- Senior Citizens
- Pregnant Women
- Those who have underlying health conditions such as:
- Asthma
- Hypertension
- Diabetes
Furthermore, it is stated in the advisory that for most-at-risk employees that are required to report for work they can report provided that they are able to secure a Certification that they are fit to carry out the designated work tasks. Also, physical contact with co-workers, clients and customers must be minimal and for short periods of time only.
