DOH Sets Price Range for the RT-PCR Testing
Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Francisco Duque III announced on a media forum today (Wednesday), November 25, 2020, the price range for the Reverse Transcription – Polymerase Reaction (RT-PCR) testing.
“Kahapon ang DOH at ang DIT ay lumagda sa isang Joint Administrative Order Setting the Procedure for the Imposition of Price Range for RT-PCR Testing Conducted by Hospitals, Labs, and Other Health Establishments. This will be effective immediately upon publication in the newspapers, after which we will issue the prescribed price range.”

The Price Range for RT-PCR Testing
For Private* Laboratories
Plate-based RT-PCR:
- Reference (Minimum) – Php 4,500.00
- Cap (Maximum) – Php 5,000.00
* This includes facilities that are under a public-private partnership agreement.
For Public Laboratories
Plate-based RT-PCR:
- Reference (Minimum) – Php 3,800.00
- Cap (Maximum) – 3,800.00
According to the health secretary, the price range is evidence-based and it was recommended by the experts. In addition, Secretary Duque also made mention that the price range will be subject to monthly monitoring to ensure that it remains fair and meets current developments.
