DILG: Baguio City Mayor Magalong, Cordillera Region’s “Disiplina Muna” Ambassador

Earlier this September, Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong has stressed the importance of learning to co-exist with the virus in order for the people and the economy to move on.

“Covid-19 will never go away hence we need to co-exist with it, we need to learn how to live with it, how to function with it and how to do business with it in our midst,” the mayor said.

Moreover, the mayor has also often pointed out the importance of having discipline in strictly adhering to minimum health protocols such as frequent washing of hands, proper wearing of face masks, physical distancing and the like, if the city hopes to flatten the curve of the virus infections.

“Let us beat Covid-19 through self-discipline. Abide to minimum health protocols,” said Mayor Magalong.

Furthermore, today (Monday), September 28, 2020, the Public Information Office of the City of Baguio has revealed that the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) has designated Mayor Magalong as the “Disiplina Muna” ambassador of the Cordillera region.

What is “Disiplina Muna”? It is a national advocacy campaign aimed at activating the real concept of governance. With this advocacy campaign, citizens are made aware of their roles and responsibilities and they become active participants in nation-building.

To ensure the success and sustainability of the program in the city and the region, Mayor Magalong has formed a team to map out strategies. The said team is made up of representatives from the government and civil society.
