DepEd Moves Last Day of Classes to July 10, 2021
The Department of Education (DepEd) has released yesterday a policy amending the School Calendar and Activities for School Year 2020-2021 or DepEd Order No. 30, series 2020. And, this policy will be implemented in all public elementary and secondary schools nationwide.
In the policy, it was stated that the last day of classes for SY 2020-2021 was moved to July 10, 2021. It was originally scheduled to end on June 11, 2021.
Amendments
The following are the amendments under the new policy:
Interventions for bridging learning gaps and intensifying learning gains
- March 1 to 12, 2021
IN-Service (INSET) for teachers and school break for learners
- March 15 to 19, 2021
Quarter 3
- March 22 to May 15, 2021
Quarter 4
- May 17 to July 10, 2021
Furthermore, DepEd has issued the amendment to allow schools to implement interventions for bridging learning gaps and to give time to teachers for the different learning delivery modalities.
In addition, DepEd has encouraged Private Schools, Technical and Vocational Institutions, Higher Education Institutions, State and Local Universities and Colleges offering the K to 12 Basic Education Program to implement the said guidelines.
