Contact Tracing Reveals Some Cases in Baguio Shows Potential Links to UK Variant Cases in Bontoc and LT
Through the Public Information Office (PIO) – City of Baguio Facebook page, Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong has issued a call to the residents of Baguio City who attended or had contacts to the attendees of two family gatherings held in Bontoc, Mt. Province last December 25 and 26, 2020.
The call was issued after ongoing contact tracing has revealed that some cases in Baguio had potential links to UK variant cases recorded in La Trinidad, Benguet, and Bontoc, Mt. Province.
Furthermore, it was determined that at least four cases in the city of Baguio have a possible connection to the cases logged on Bontoc.
“ANNOUNCEMENTOngoing contact tracing and link analyses revealed some COVID-19 cases in Baguio had potential links to UK variant cases in La Trinidad and Bontoc.
At least four COVID-19 cases in Baguio had been determined to have had possible connection to the Bontoc patients.
In view of this, Mayor Benjamin Magalong issued a call to Baguio residents who had attended or had contacts to attendees of two family gatherings held in Bontoc on Dec. 25, 2020 and Dec. 26, 2020 to contact the City Health Services Office (Hotline Smart 09184880195; Globe 09167974397) or the nearest health centers for guidance, contact tracing and monitoring purposes.”-PIO on Facebook
