COMELEC: Registration of Voters Resumes on September
The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) has announced the resumption of Registration of Voters under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) or Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) or no Community Quarantine (New Normal).
The Registration of Voters will resume on September 1, 2020, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 AM (Monday to Friday, including Saturdays and Holidays) until September 30, 2021 (except December 25, 2020 and April 1 and 2, 2021).
Satellite registration, however, is not allowed, as of now, except in areas wherein there are no cases of COVID-19.
Who may Apply for Registration?
- At least 18 years of age on or before May 9, 2022, National and Local Elections.
- A resident of the Philippines for at least 1 year and in the place wherein he/she proposes to vote, for at least 6 months immediately preceding May 9, 2022 National and Local Elections.
- Not otherwise disqualified by Law.
For those Who will Possess Qualification On/Before May 9, 2022
- Any person who has not reached the required voting age or period of residence on the day of registration, but will possess such qualifications on or before May 9, 2022 National and Local Elections may register as a voter.
- The reception of their application shall commence only on May 10, 2021 (at least 1 year prior to election day)
How to Register?
- Go to the Facebook Page of the Office of the Election Officer (OEO) COMELEC of the municipality or city where you intend to register.
- Follow the steps for scheduling your appointment for registration and biometrics taking. Registration forms are downloadable. Fill up the forms before going to the Office of the Election Officer.
- Fill up the downloadable CORONA VIRUS SELF-DECLARATION FORM.
- Bring and present the following downloadable forms to the Office of the Election Officer of the city/municipality where you intend to register on your scheduled appointment date:
- Registration Forms
- Corona Virus Self Declaration Form
- Bring your own ballpen.
- Wear Facemask. No facemask, No registration.
- Social distancing at all times.
Voter’s Certification
- Go to the Facebook Page of the OEO Comelec of the city/municipality where you are registered.
- Follow steps for scheduling of pick-up of Voter’s Certification.
- Pay Php 75.00 Certification Fee.
What to Bring for New Registrants
According to the COMELEC Resolution No. 10549, here is the list of valid identification documents:
- Employees Identification Card
- Postal ID of voters
- PWD Discount ID
- Student’s ID, Library Card
- Senior Citizens ID
- Driver’s License
- NBI Clearance
- Passport
- SSS/GSIS ID
- Integrated Bar of the Philippines ID
- PRC License
- Certificate of Confirmation by NICP
- Any other valid ID
