Classes and Work in Public Offices in Baguio City will be suspended in the afternoon of April 13, 2022

The Baguio City Mayor announced the suspension of classes in both public and private schools as well as the suspension of work at public offices in Baguio City. The suspension is through Executive Order No. 50 series of 2022. Suspension of classes and work shall be at 12:00 in the afternoon of  April 13, 2022.

The reason for the suspension is to allow families to afford more time for learners and workers to prepare for the Holy Week activities. The suspension of work in government offices however is not absolute. This is to ensure continuous service to the public, especially for public offices that are involved in the provision of law enforcement, health services, critical emergency services, and disaster risk reduction management. Therefore, the following public offices shall maintain their workforce to ensure continuity of the delivery of service to the public:

  • City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office
  • City Building and Architecture Office
  • City Engineering Office
  • City Environment and Parks Management Office
  • General Services Office
  • City Social Welfare and Development Office
  • Health Services Office

Work in the local agencies of the National Government specifically those that DO NOT provide critical emergency services may be suspended as long as there is a clearance or conformity from their respective Regional or Central offices.
