City Orders Stay-At-Home Restrictions for Unvaccinated Minors Starting January 21-31, 2022

Mayor Benjamin Magalong has released an order to heighten the stay-at-home restrictions for unvaccinated persons aged 17 and below. The restrictions will take effect starting Friday, January 21 to Monday, January 31, 2022.

According to Mayor Magalong, the restrictions will be implemented due to the continuous rise in the number of daily coronavirus cases in the city, with 246 or 5.3% of the 4,607 active cases being minors below age 12.

As per Executive Order No. 12, series of 2022, all unvaccinated persons aged 17 and below, shall stay in their homes at all times, except in the following instances:

a. To attend to indispensable appointments or transactions that require physical presence, or medical appointments/emergencies; and

b. Recreational or wellness activities in outdoor areas. Outdoor areas are those spaces that allow free air movement from all directions and may be covered by a roof, supported by posts, and not surrounded by walls, and shall be limited to the following:

  • parks
  • gardens
  • biking and hiking trails
  • outdoor non-contact sports courts and venues
  • all fresco seating areas in food and beverage establishments with dine-in services
