As the Holy Week comes, we are given the opportunity to remember the sanctity of the life of Jesus Christ – his passion, death and resurrection.

So as you choose to spend this solemn celebration in Baguio City, we’d like to help you find churches to go to for the observance of the tradition of the Seven Churches Visitation, otherwise known as the Visita Iglesia.

Our Lady of Atonement Cathedral

Our Lady of Atonement Cathedral is a historical church, being able to survive the destruction caused by the World War II. It is located at the central business district, making it very accessible to everyone.

HOLY WEEK SCHEDULE

Palm Sunday (April 14) Solemn Blessing of Palms is 15 minutes before every Mass at the Cathedral Square. Sunday Mass schedule is every hour starting from 5AM to 7PM.

Pink Sister’s Convent and Chapel

The Pink Sisters’ Convent and Chapel is located along Brent Road, Baguio City. It is surrounded by pine trees among others, making the place’s ambiance so peaceful and perfect for meditation.

Our Lady of Lourdes Parish

Our Lady of Lourdes Parish has recently undergone renovation and beautification. It is perfect for people who are planning to go to church and also visit the famous Burnham Park, which is just a few steps from the parish.

St. Joseph the Worker Parish

St. Joseph the Worker Parish is located at the Pacdal Circle area. It is near several tourist spots like Botanical Garden, Wright Park, the Mansion, and Mines View Park, making it a perfect place for families to visit before or even right after going around Baguio City’s attractions.

Kapilya nina Hesus at Maria

This beautiful chapel, otherwise known as the Lourdes Grotto Chapel, can be found on top of the famous Lourdes Grotto in Baguio. Far from the city proper, it provides a perfect ambiance for contemplation and prayer.

Casiciaco Recoletos Seminary

Casiciaco Recoletos serves as a home for seminarians. Aside from this, it has also been a House of Philosophical Studies for more than 50 years now.

Masses are being held in the seminary so if you are near the area, you can go here to attend them.

Shrine of the Brown Madonna

The Shrine of the Brown Madonna is a church inside a cave along Km. 7, Asin Road. This is perfect for people looking for a quiet place for meditation – an escape from the busy streets of the city.
