Chris Evans is the Original Buzz Lightyear in the Upcoming Movie “Lightyear”

We know Buzz Lightyear as a Space Ranger toy who’s among Sheriff Woody’s friends in the Toy Story franchise, but in 2022 we are going to meet a never before seen version of Buzz Lightyear!

Pixar announced on Friday, December 11, 2020, the upcoming movie “Lightyear” which is about the definitive story of the original Buzz Lightyear. And guess what? Buzz is going to be voiced by the American actor, Chris Evans, who is best known for his portrayal of Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

“I don’t even have the words,” stated Chris Evans on a Tweet. “And just to be clear, this isn’t Buzz Lightyear the toy. This is the origin story of the human Buzz Lightyear that the toy is based on,” he added.

What we know so far is that the film will revolve around the story of how a young test pilot became a Space Ranger; and that it is directed by Angus MacLane and produced by Galyn Susman.

Furthermore, it has also been revealed that “Lightyear” is expected to launch into theaters on June 17, 2022.
