CHED Grants 12 Cordillera HEIs Authority to Conduct Limited Face-to-Face Classes





Twelve Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) have been granted the authority to conduct limited face-to-face classes for the Academic Year 2021-2022 by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), according to CHED-CAR on Wednesday.





The authorization came after the institutions have completed the requirements prescribed by the CHED-DOH Joint Memorandum Circular No. 1 Series 2021, which contains the guidelines on the gradual reopening of HEI campuses during the COVID-19 pandemic.





The following HEIs in Cordillera have been granted authority to conduct limited face-to-face classes for selected health-related degree programs:

    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Baguio Central University
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing
    • Diploma in Midwifery
  • Cordillera Career Development College 
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing
    • Bachelor of Science in Midwifery
  • Easter College
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing



  • Ifugao State University
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Lamut Campus)
    • Diploma in Midwifery (Potia Campus)
  • Kalinga State University
    • Bachelor of Science in Midwifery
  • Pines City Colleges
    • Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing
    • Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science
    • Doctor of Dental Medicine
  • Saint Louis University
    • Doctor of Medicine
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing
    • Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science
  • Benguet Vocational School
    • Diploma in Midwifery
  • University of Baguio
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing

According to CHED, health-related degree programs (medicine, nursing, medical technology, physical therapy, midwifery, and public health) that are regarded as vital in providing additional manpower support in the health system during the pandemic shall be prioritized in the gradual reopening of face to face classes.
