Baguio City remains to be under GCQ with heightened restrictions until October 31, 2021

Last night, Malacañang has announced the quarantine classifications for NCR, provinces, and cities in the Philippines. Baguio City will remain to be under GCQ with heightened restrictions from October 1, 2021, until October 31, 2021. In line with this announcement, the City Mayors office has released Executive Order 121 series of 2021. EO 121 S 21 maintained the provisions of EO 117 S21 with some modifications.

Baguio City Government extends heightened restrictions guidelines

As Baguio City remains to be under GCQ with heightened restrictions the local government through the City Mayor’s office, extended the restrictions previously set under this quarantine classification. However, there were modifications to the said guidelines.

The modification is that those industries or businesses that were not able to conduct operations from September 24-30, 2021 will now be allowed. The industries or businesses that were initially banned and now allowed under the same quarantine classifications are:

  • indoor gyms, fitness centers, sports venues
  • indoor recreation venues (game arcades, bowling alleys, gaming and bingo outlets, and other similar establishments)
  • museums, cultural centers, libraries, archives, and other indoor tourist and leisure attractions.

While these establishments were now allowed to operate under the GCQ with heightened restrictions quarantine classifications, the local government of Baguio has set several conditions before they are allowed to operate. The conditions are the following:

  • The establishment has been issued with a SAFETY SEAL Certificate in accordance with the DOLE-DOH-DILG-DOT-DTI Joint memorandum circular no. 21-01 s. 2021.
  • The establishment will only operate at a maximum capacity of 30% with the inclusion of staff and personnel.
