This declaration comes in the wake of escalating incident reports related to the disease, prompting immediate and intensified measures to control the situation.

Intensified Measures and Investigation

In response to the health emergency, Mayor Magalong ordered a series of actions this morning. Key among these is the massive testing of water sources across the city. This includes water from delivery companies and deep wells. The Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) investigators are collaborating closely with the Baguio City Health Service Office and the Baguio Water District personnel. Their joint efforts are focused on expediting the data gathering and water testing operations. This collaborative approach is crucial in the ongoing investigation to identify the root cause of the gastroenteritis surge.

Current Situation

As of 11 a.m. today, the City Health Service Office (CHSO) reported a total of 1,602 incident cases. The outbreak has impacted 218 establishments and 80 households, indicating a widespread issue that requires immediate attention.
