Six Cordillera Roadlines Not Passable as of September 29, 2026

Six roadlines in Baguio City, Benguet, Ifugao, and Mountain Province are listed as not passable as of the morning of September 29, 2026, according to the latest road and travel advisory from DPWH-Cordillera. Kennon Road remains open to light vehicles only, with a maximum load limit of 5 tons.

The Department of Public Works and Highways-Cordillera Administrative Region (DPWH-CAR) said the advisory was based on reports gathered from 5:56 AM to 7:00 AM.

The advisory also states that all national roads and bridges in Abra, Apayao, Ifugao, Kalinga, and Mountain Province are passable. However, its detailed road status list identifies one roadline in Ifugao and another in Mountain Province as not passable. Motorists using these routes should therefore rely on the specific road conditions listed below and monitor subsequent DPWH-CAR updates.

Kennon Road Open to Light Vehicles Only

Kennon Road remains passable to light vehicles only, with a maximum load limit of 5 tons.

Several sections continue to have restrictions:

• At Sitio Camp 2, Barangay Twin Peaks, Tuba, the Acrow Bridge remains not passable, while the detour road is one-lane passable.
• The Rockshed Approach at Camp 6 is one-lane passable.
• Another section at Camp 6, Tuba is one-lane passable due to falling rocks.

Motorists using Kennon Road are advised to exercise caution and follow instructions from personnel managing traffic along affected sections.

Six Roadlines Listed as Not Passable

Baguio City

Two roadlines remain affected by sinking sections:

• PMA Road
• PMA Cut-Off Road No. 3

DPWH-CAR said continuous monitoring of the affected sections is being conducted.

Benguet

Benguet-Nueva Vizcaya Road

The Benguet-Nueva Vizcaya Road at Barangay Beckel, La Trinidad remains not passable due to a road cut.

Alternate routes are:

• Marlboro-Beckel Road
• Labey-Lacamen Road

Baguio-Itogon Road

The Baguio-Itogon Road at Sitio Goldfield, Barangay Poblacion, Itogon remains not passable due to a landslide.

Alternate route: Ucab-Midas Road

Ifugao

The Banaue-Hungduan-Benguet Boundary Road at Hapao, Hungduan is listed as not passable due to soil collapse and rockfall.

Alternate route: Kiangan-Tinoc-Buguias Road

Mountain Province

The Junction Talubin-Barlig Road at Sitio Pingew, Barangay Talubin, Bontoc is not passable due to soil collapse.

DPWH-CAR said clearing operations are ongoing at the affected section.

Clearing and Restoration Operations Continue

DPWH-CAR said road-clearing teams and heavy equipment remain deployed in affected areas to remove soil, rocks, debris, and other obstructions.

Motorists and those who need to be on the road are advised to exercise extra caution, follow traffic advisories and instructions from personnel on site, slow down when approaching affected sections, and avoid unnecessary travel through hazardous areas.
