The Benguet Electric Cooperative (BENECO) has announced an unscheduled power interruption affecting several areas, including the whole of Baguio City, La Trinidad, Tuba (except Camp 4, Camp 3, Tabaan Sur, Twin Peaks, and Camp 1), Sablan, and parts of Tublay, Itogon, and Bokod. The interruption began on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at 01:24 PM.

The affected equipment includes the NSC, Irisan, and Lamut Substations. BENECO is currently coordinating with the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) to address the issue.

Residents in the affected areas are advised to consider all lines energized at all times, as power may be restored without prior notice. BENECO appreciates the patience and cooperation of the public during this time.

For further updates, residents are encouraged to stay tuned to BENECO’s official channels.

Background & Context

Unscheduled power interruptions can occur due to various reasons, including equipment failure or natural events. During such interruptions, it is advisable for residents to unplug sensitive electronic devices to prevent damage when power is restored. Typically, electric cooperatives like BENECO work closely with grid operators to restore power as quickly as possible.
