Baguio Mayor Warns to Lockdown Moma-stained Barangays

UPDATE June 17, 2026 11:04 AM:

Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong said that presence of moma spit on barangays will be a reason to order lockdown. With this, Mayor Magalong ordered the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) to do aggressive drive against unregulated chewing and spitting of Moma or Betel Nut which is a violation of the Anti-Moma ordinance of the city.

Anti-Moma Ordinance of Baguio

The city already has an existing ordinance authored by Councilor Joel Alangsab regulating the chewing, spitting of moma or betel quid in public places, and selling of moma products to minors in the City of Baguio, imposing penalties for violations thereof and providing funds therefor and for other purposes.

The Anti-Moma Ordinance was approved by the city council of Baguio last March 9. The goal of this ordinance is to promote health and sanitation in the city of Baguio.

Observe Proper Sanitation

Let’s keep our city clean to ensure our health’s safety by observing proper sanitation. Our health is very important so let us help by cooperating and following the proper guidelines.
