If you have ever wanted to rest comfortably on your way to Baguio, the Victory Liner Royal Class Bus might be the answer. I recently tried the Pasay to Baguio route, and here is what the experience was like from start to finish.

Booking a Royal Class Ticket
I booked my ticket directly at the Victory Liner terminal in Baguio before my trip to Manila. I prefer securing my seat early, especially since the Royal Class Bus only travels four times a day, with schedules at 2:15 AM, 5:15 AM, 12:15 PM, and 11:15 PM from Pasay to Baguio. You can also book tickets through the Victory Liner website, but since I was already near the terminal, walking in was more convenient.
You can also book your tickets via Klook here.
For the return trip from Pasay to Baguio, I chose the 12:15 PM schedule, which was the only daytime slot available.
- Regular fare: ₱1,546
- Discounted fare (student, senior citizen, PWD): ₱1,238 with valid ID

Inside the Royal Class Bus
The Royal Class Bus features individual sleeping pods, with upper and lower bed options. If you have mobility issues or a preferred spot, note that odd-numbered seats are for lower beds and even-numbered seats are for upper beds.

We chose seats C03 and C05, both lower beds on the driver’s side. If you enjoy watching the view or quietly reflecting during the ride, pick seats from rows A or C. The middle section has no windows, so it is best suited for sleeping.

Comfort and Design
From the outside, the Royal Class Bus looks premium, complete with a red carpet at boarding. Inside, there are three columns of pods, which makes the aisle narrower than a regular first-class bus. Once settled in, however, it feels spacious enough to relax.

The comfort room is on the same level as the beds, which is more convenient compared to first-class buses where the restroom is usually down a few steps.
What to Expect Inside the Pod
Each pod features a fully reclining bed seat that adjusts from a seated position to almost horizontal, allowing passengers to rest comfortably throughout the trip. You also get curtains for privacy, individual air-conditioning control, and a personal light switch.

There are USB and USB-C charging ports, along with storage space for your complimentary water bottle and other small items. An emergency hammer is located near the window for safety. The bus also has Wi-Fi with decent speed, and it stays connected throughout the trip without frequent drops.
At 5’4”, I found the bed length just right, with extra space for small belongings. Taller passengers might find it a bit short, but it remains comfortable for the duration of the trip. Larger bags are better placed in the bus compartment below.
Complimentary Perks
Before departure, passengers receive water, bread, and wet towel infused with some type of aromatherapy. You also get a blanket, and yes, it is yours to keep. The staff clearly states that it is included in the fare. It is a nice touch that adds to the overall comfort of the trip, with a little souvenir blanket you can even use later as your study chair blanket.

Travel Time and Ride Quality
Our trip from Pasay to Baguio took around five hours. We left on time, and since there was a tropical storm that day, the driver took a careful, steady pace. The ride was smooth and quiet, and I even managed to read a few chapters without feeling dizzy.
Who Should Try the Royal Class Bus
This service is ideal for those coming from NAIA who want to rest comfortably on the way to Baguio. It is also great for tourists who have had early call times during their trips and need a proper nap. Introverts and solo travelers who appreciate privacy and peace will enjoy this experience.
The travel time is not quite long enough for a full sleep cycle, but you can definitely take a restful nap or listen to music while watching the rain outside.

The Royal Class Lounge
Royal Class passengers have access to a private lounge while waiting for departure. I did not have the chance to explore it because we arrived just as boarding began, but the lounge at the Baguio terminal looks neat and organized.

Final Thoughts
Would I take the Royal Class Bus again? Definitely yes. It offers a relaxing, private, and comfortable travel experience that feels worth the fare.
If you’re taking the First Class bus and have a little more budget to spare, go for the Royal Class sleeper bus instead. The added comfort, privacy, and complimentary blanket make a noticeable difference, especially on long trips.
Comfort level: ★★★★☆
Value for money: ★★★★☆
Would I ride again? Yes, without hesitation!
