Two of Three COVID-19 Patients in Benguet Recovered

The province of Benguet was not spared by the SARS-Cov-2 virus as the province reported 3 cases of COVID-19. The patients are the following:

  1. A 6-year old girl with travel history to the CALABARZON region.
  2. A 34-year old female with travel history abroad
  3. A 40-year old male with travel history in Region III.

As of today, however, Benguet has not reported any new case of COVID-19 and in even better news, two of the three patients have already recovered.

Last April 3, 2020, the 6-year-old girl was already discharged from the hospital after testing negative for the COVID-19 disease. Yesterday, April 11, 2020, another patient, the 34-year-old female, Sharon Caparas, was discharged from the hospital after testing negative for COVID-19 last April 8, 2020. Ms. Caparas is an OFW who came home last March, she was admitted last March 29 where she has undergone treatment.

Today, only one COVID-19 patient remains in the medical facility and he is in stable condition.

While the province of Benguet is showing positive signs in “flattening the curve”, the directives of the government on social distancing and staying at home should still be strictly followed. This is because there are growing pieces of evidence that social distancing, wearing face masks and staying at home is a huge factor in stopping the spread of COVID-19.
