See the Top 10 High Risk Barangay Hot Spots in the Province of Benguet



The Provincial Health Office (PHO) of Benguet has reported updates on the number of COVID cases and the Benguet Emergency Operations Center Public Information Office (Benguet EOC-PIO) has made the data public on Thursday, December 10, 2020.

Below are details on the top high-risk barangay hot spots in the province; the epidemic risk classification of the municipalities; and the municipalities with the highest confirmed cases, active cases, and recoveries.

Top 10 High-Risk Barangay Hot Spots as of December 8, 2020

  • Paco, Mankayan (114 cases)
  • Sapid, Mankayan (72 cases)
  • Camp 3, Tuba (35 cases)
  • Balili, La Trinidad (30 cases)
  • Pico, La Trinidad (25 cases)
  • Alapang, La Trinidad (15 cases)
  • Poblacion, La Trinidad (14 cases)
  • Wangal, La Trinidad (13 cases)
  • Ampucao, Itogon (12 cases)
  • Poblacion, Mankayan (10 cases)

Epidemic Risk Classification of Municipalities as of December 9, 2020

  • Atok – Low
  • Bakun – Minimal
  • Bokod – Minimal
  • Buguias – Low
  • Itogon – Low
  • Kabayan – Minimal
  • Kapangan – Moderate
  • Kibungan – Minimal
  • La Trinidad – High
  • Mankayan – Critical
  • Sablan – Moderate
  • Tuba – Moderate
  • Tublay – Moderate

Municipalities with Highest Confirmed Cases, Active Cases, Recoveries

According to the Benguet EOC-PIO, the Municipality of La Trinidad has the highest number of confirmed cases in the province, followed by Itogon, Tuba and Mankayan. The report was based on the updates provided on December 9, 2020.
  • La Trinidad – 760 Confined Cases
  • Itogon – 701 Confined Cases
  • Tuba – 422 Confined Cases
  • Mankayan – 405 Confined Cases

Moreover, Mankayan has the highest active cases with three hundred and forty-two (342); while Itogon has the highest recoveries with six hundred and sixty-eight (668). There also those municipalities, as of December 9, with no active cases and these are Bokod, Kabayan, and Kibungan.

Total Confirmed Cases as of Dec. 9, 2020

And among the two thousand, five hundred and seven (2,507) total confirmed cases in Benguet as of December 9, 2020, 64% are male and 36% are female. Here are more details on the total confirmed cases:

  • 1,908 (76%) recoveries
  • 577 (23%) active cases
  • 22 (1%) death cases
  • Case Fatality Rate 0.87%

Update as of December 10, 2020

Furthermore, as of December 10, 2020, the Province of Benguet has recorded an additional twenty-eight (28) new confirmed cases and fifty-four (54) new recoveries.

These new cases now bring the total confirmed cases in the province to two thousand, five hundred and thirty-five (2,535) which is composed of five hundred and fifty-one (551) active cases; one thousand, nine hundred and sixty-two (1,962) recoveries; and twenty-two (22) fatalities.
