SWS: 36% of Adult Filipinos Expect their Quality-of-Life to Worsen in the Next 12 Months
Thirty-six percent (36%) of adult Filipinos are expecting their quality-of-life to worsen in the next twelve (12) months. The data was found through the July 3-6, 2020 National Mobile Phone Survey conducted by the Social Weather Stations (SWS).
Thirty percent (30%), on the other hand, are expecting it to stay the same, while twenty-six percent (26%) are expecting it to improve in the next 12 months.
Those who are expecting their quality-of-life to worsen termed by SWS as “Pessimists”, while those who are expecting their quality-of-life to improve are termed as “Optimists”.
In the 37-year series, the 36% Pessimists in July 2020 has become the second-highest proportion. However, it has peaked in May 2020 at forty-three (43%), breaking the previous record in March 2005 which was at thirty-four (34%).
Results of the July 3-6, 2020 survey was released on August 21, 2020.
About the SWS Survey
The SWS July 3-6, 2020 National Mobile Phone Survey of SWS was a probability-based survey conducted using a mobile phone and computer-assisted telephone interviewing (CATI).
One thousand, five hundred and fifty-five (1,555 ) adult Filipinos nationwide, who are eighteen (18) years old and above, have been part of the survey.
Three hundred and six (306) of them are in the National Capital Region, four hundred and fifty-one (451) are in Luzon outside of Metro Manila, three hundred and eighty-eight (388) are in the Visayas, and four hundred and ten (410) are in Mindanao.
The report was prepared by Jose Miguel Alberto M. Carlos, Fernel Ted A. Paguinto, and Leo S. Laroza, Gerardo A. Sandoval, and Josefina O. Mar of the Social Weather Stations.
