Spider-man No Way Home must be the much-awaited movie of the year. Not only because of the fact that this movie almost didn’t see daylight due to the rift between Marvel and Sony, the latter owning the rights to the Spider-man brand. When the dust settled on that rift, fans won as No Way Home started filming. On top of that, this movie is part of Phase 4 of Marvel and the introduction of the Multiverse, which means the possibility of characters from the past coming back to “life”.

Bringing Characters back to “life”

And that is what exactly happened as shown in the first and second trailers of Spider-man: No Way Home. During the first trailer, we saw the return of Dr. Otto Octavius (Dr. Octopus) and a hint of the green goblin, both are characters defeated in Spider-Man 1 and 2 back when Toby Maguire played the role of Spider-man in 2002.

The Second Trailer Observations

In the second trailer, it seems (we say it seems because Marvel has a cunning way of hiding the real scenes in the trailer), that it wasn’t only Dr. Octopus and the green goblin who breached the multiverse. Thanks to Dr. Strange and his spells “visitors” from other universes have arrived in this world of this present-day spider-man. What is evident in the trailers is, Elektro, Lizard, and Sandman are back.

Towards the last part of the trailer, MJ fell from a structure and Spider-man jumped in to save her. That particular shot is familiar having watched all the Spider-man movies from Toby Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland. What is striking is that scene in The Amazing Spider-man (Andrew Garfield), his love interest Gwen fell off a building, and unfortunately, he wasn’t able to save her. Could this scene be the redemption scene of The Amazing Spider-man?

Will the Spider-men Appear?

One of the reasons why this movie is much awaited is the fact that fans are excited to see if Marvel and Sony managed to bring back the two other Spider-man since it is a multiverse after all. After tons of concept videos and fake trailers popping up on Tiktok, showing that the three joined forces, fans were waiting if they would finally reveal the presence of the two other Spider-man in the movie, unfortunately, that is not the case here. We still have to wait until the movie or maybe until the final trailer drops (if there is one).

One scene is so intriguing in the second trailer of Spider-man No Way Home, though. The scene where Spider-man jumps to face off with The Lizard, Sandman, and Elektro. He seemed outnumbered and it looked like the scene had more empty space to the left, enough space for two more Spider-man. Of course, we should trust what the trailer shows however, Marvel is known for editing scenes in trailers, remember the Avengers End Game trailers where parts were digitally altered to hide the secrets of the movie?

It is still a long wait for the Philippines

Spider-man: No Way Home will be shown on the big screen in the United State on December 17, 2021. However, for fans in the Philippines, we have to wait longer as it is scheduled to be shown on January 8, 2022. The Philippines is the last country to which Spider-man: No Way Home will be shown. Right now, fans in the Philippines are petitioning to have the movie shown in the country on the same date as the global release.
