It’s that time of the year again and today, the City Government of Baguio with the Baguio Flower Festival Foundation Inc. bared the Baguio Flower Festival 2017 or the Panagbenga Festival 2017 schedule of Traditional Activities.

The Panagbenga Festival

The Panagbenga or Baguio Flower Festival is an annual event in Baguio City to celebrate the season of blooming more than that, the Panagbenga Festival is a celebration of the rise of Baguio City after it fell from the devastation brought about by the 1990 earthquake.

      Session Road will close to traffic on February 26, 2017 right after the Grand Float Parade for the Session Road in Bloom.

  4. Hi! It’s my first time to witness this festival and Im planning it on the 26th since I have a work every Sat. Is there an entrance fee? Also, is ot better for me to have a pre-arranged tour/trip or can I do it in solo (like DIY)?

      1. There are no entrance fees with regards to watching the parade
      2. If you are going solo, DIY would be the practical choice, we provide updates and info when you subscribe to our newsletter.

      Yes malapit ang Hotel Veniz sa daraanan ng parade pero obstructed ang view from the building ng overpass.

  6. Hi. i would like to ask what time usually do the Street Parade (feb25) starts and what time does the Float Parade (feb26) usually ends. so that i could plan my bus reservations accordingly. 🙂 thanks!

      The parades usually starts at 7am however we would recommend coming in early to secure a spot on where you can witness the parade. The float parade usually last for about 2-3 hours depending on the number of float participants.

  13. Hi what happens in the Handog ng Panagbenga sa Pamilya Baguio? May flowers display din ba doon?

    1. There are several events during the Handog ng Panagbenga sa Pamilya Baguio one of the events is the Let a Thousand Flowers Bloom this is an event where participants will have a chance to paint on canvas. The Flowers can be viewed at the landscape competition area which will be on exhibit.

      Yes that is a safe estimate for the duration of the parades, excluding of course the presentation by the street dancers at the Melvin Jones Grandstand

      To answer your questions:
      1. No there is no parade on the 15th of February
      2. School based competitions are the different school-based contests like school landscaping, flower arranging etc.
      3. On the 15th of February up to the closing of the festival the “market encounter” or dubbed as the Baguio Blooms Exposition and Exhibition is at the Juan Luna and Lake Drive. On Feb. 26, just after the grand float parade the Session Road in Bloom will start up until the closing of Panagbenga on March 5.
      4. For Panagbenga activities please refer to our posted schedule.

      No, there are no seat reservations, entry to the grandstand is free.

    My fiancee and I are planning to go to Baguio on February 13-16. Will we be able to find a lot of hotels or inns open for booking since it’s not yet the actual parade day? What can we expect from Handog ng Panagbenga sa Pamilya Baguio? What are other places we can visit that we can have a look and feel of Panagbenga during our stay? Thanks 🙂

      Handog ng Panagbenga sa Pamilya Baguio is an all day event that will feature bazaars, mini concerts, kite flying and other activities.

      You might want to visit the flower farms of Benguet.

      Roads to be used by the parade as well as the adjacent roads will be closed to traffic. They usually close the roads at around 5am to 6am.

      No there is no parade on February 12.
      The Grand Parades usually starts from around 7am – 8am.

      Kung dadaan po kayo ng TPLEX mas mabilis po ang byahe pero pag naabutan po kayo ng 6am paakyat ng baguio matatrapik na po kayo since sarado na po mga main roads ng baguio at that time.

      Pag dating po sa hotels or transient houses, mas mainam po na early booking kayo pwede nyo po icheck dito

      As per the park rule bawal po mag pitch ng tent. For the allowed areas siguro po you can coordinate with the City Environment and Parks Management Office. Dito po address nila and contact number:

    i would really want to watch the grand float parade on sunday. it’ll be my first time. until where the provincial buses will be allowed since some main roads will be closed for sure? i remember victory’s terminal is near sm baguio & session rd. Baka malayo na ang lalakarin going to the parade. Thanks.
