In Baguio City: 78 Individuals Apprehended on October First for Health Protocol Violation
The Baguio City Police Office City Director PCol. Allen Rae Co is reminding the public to always adhere to basic health protocols which include the proper wearing of facemask and face shield while strolling around city parks and other public places.
Based on a report published by the Public Information Office of the City of Baguio earlier this afternoon, seventy-eight (78) individuals were apprehended while strolling at Burnham Park on the first day of October for health protocol violation.
First Offense
Among the 78 apprehended, one (1) opted to pay a fine of one thousand pesos (Php 1,000) for the first offense of not wearing a facemask, while two (2) were made to pay the fine of five hundred (Php 500) for the first offense of not adhering to physical distancing.
This is since Baguio City has the City Ordinance No. 45, series of 2020 or “The Face Mask Ordinance of 2020 in the City of Baguio” and the City Ordinance No. 46, series of 2020 “Imposing physical distancing in all activities in the City of Baguio.”
Warned and Lectured
Meanwhile, seventy-five (75) of the individuals who have been apprehended were warned and lectured on Executive Order No. 126, series of 2020 which requires the use of face shields in the following places:
- Public markets
- Supermarkets
- Groceries
- Malls
- Shopping centers
- Government offices
- Inside public transportation vehicles
