Here’s what Apple revealed during their “Wonderlust” event






Apple’s 2023 iPhone event, dubbed “Wonderlust,” unveiled a plethora of new devices, with some anticipated and others surprising the tech world.

iPhone 15 Series

  • iPhone 15 Lineup: Apple introduced the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Notably absent was the new iPhone SE, but rumors suggest an iPhone Ultra might be on the horizon for next year.
  • USB-C Transition: In a significant shift, Apple has abandoned the Lightning port for the entire iPhone 15 series, embracing USB-C. This move aligns with the European Union’s legislation mandating USB-C charging ports for mobile devices sold within its jurisdiction.
  • Design and Display: The iPhone 15 boasts a fresh design with rounded edges and a 2,000-nit Super Retina XDR display, which is double the brightness of its predecessor, the iPhone 14.
  • Camera Innovations: The iPhone 15 features a 48MP main camera, an ultrawide lens, and a TrueDepth front camera. Enhanced machine learning capabilities allow for dynamic focus adjustments, even post-capture.
  • Performance: Powered by the A16 chip, the iPhone 15 also includes a second-gen ultra-wideband chip, enhancing location accuracy and noise filtering during calls.
  • Pricing: The iPhone 15 starts at $799, with the iPhone 15 Plus priced from $899. Pre-orders begin on September 15, with an in-store release slated for September 22.

iPhone 15 Pro Series

  • Design: The iPhone 15 Pro models feature a titanium body, making them the lightest Pro models to date. They also boast the thinnest screen borders of any iPhone.
  • Action Button: A novel addition is the Action button, which can be customized to launch apps or activate specific functions instantly.
  • Performance: The iPhone 15 Pro models are powered by the A17 Pro chip, a 3nm chipset with 19 billion transistors, promising enhanced gaming and video streaming experiences.
  • Camera: The Pro models can capture 3D spatial videos compatible with Apple Vision Pro headsets. The iPhone 15 Pro Max offers a 5x telephoto zoom lens.
  • Pricing: The iPhone 15 Pro starts at $999, and the Pro Max version is priced from $1,199. Both models will be available from September 22.

Apple Watch Series

  • Apple Watch Series 9: Featuring the S9 chip, the Series 9 promises faster processing and machine learning capabilities. It also introduces the “Double Tap” gesture for primary actions in apps. Prices start at $399 for the GPS model and $499 for the cellular version.
  • Apple Watch Ultra 2: Sharing many features with the Series 9, the Ultra 2 boasts a brighter display at 3,000 nits. It is priced from $799, inclusive of GPS and cellular connectivity.





Apple Software Updates

Apple announced software upgrades across its ecosystem:

  • iOS 17 and watchOS 10: Set to release on September 18, bringing new features to recent iPhones and Watches.
  • iPadOS 17 and tvOS 17: Also launching on September 18.
  • macOS Sonoma: Apple’s desktop and laptop users can anticipate this update on September 26.
