Here’s the List of PH’s Wealthiest LGUs



The Commission on Audit (COA) – the Philippines has released the 2019 Annual Financial Report (AFR)  for the Local Government Unit (LGU), and the city of Makati is recognized as the wealthiest LGU in the country with 233.780 billion total assets in 2019.

The report was released by COA yesterday, January 14, 2021 (Thursday). And, the said report is the combination of 2019 financial statements of 1,653 of the 1,715  LGU’s consisting:

  • 81 provinces
  • 146 cities
  • 1,488 municipalities

According to COA, the total assets of LGUs in 2019 is 2.538 trillion.

Below is the list of the wealthiest provinces, cities, and municipalities in the Philippines and the total assets of each place is indicated.

Top 10 Wealthiest Province in 2019

  • Cebu | 203.900 B
  • Batangas | 20.793 B
  • Rizal | 20.275 B
  • Davao de oro | 20.099 B
  • Bukidnon | 18.294 B
  • Surigao del Norte | 16.684 B
  • Negros Occidental | 15.901 B
  • Leyte | 13.540 B
  • Palawan | 13.036 B
  • Iloilo | 13.034 B

  • Makati | 233.780 B
  • Quezon | 96.423 B
  • Manila | 64.805 B
  • Pasig | 45.639 B
  • Cebu | 34.711 B

Furthermore, COA’s “AFR for Local Government aims to provide essential information on the financial condition, performance, changes in equity, cash flows, and comparative budget and actual amounts of LGUs and the local government sector as a whole, to a wide range of users and stakeholders.”
