Get to know the heart of Baguio City

The real essence of travelling is to get to know a place by heart. And to be able to do that, you have to know where to go and what to do when you’re in that place. So if you’re planning to visit Baguio City for the second time or so, maybe it’s the perfect chance to take things to the next level and dig deeper into the place’s identity.

Make the most out of your Baguio City visit

Baguio City is definitely a gem on its own. Its a city you’d certainly love not just because of the cold weather but also the things that set it apart from others.  And to make your next visit the best one ever, you have to make sure that you experience and rediscover Baguio.

The Ultimate Baguio Experience

1. Witness the glorious sunrise at Mines View Park.

Nothing beats seeing such a wonderful sight while savoring the cold pine breeze of Baguio City. And to make things even better, you might want to do this with your loved ones.

Mines View Park has been famous, especially to photographers, because it offers a very beautiful scenery enough to capture the hearts of those who look forward to it seeing it.

2. Have a glimpse of Baguio’s History.

As they say, it’s one way to get to know something by finding out how it came to be. So to be able to know how Baguio City came to be, you can visit several places like the Baguio Museum and Camp John Hay Historical Core. But if you’re a certified bookworm, Baguio City Public Library is the perfect place for you.

3. Taste Authentic Cordilleran Dishes.

One of the things that makes travel a very exciting experience is the opportunity to try local dishes. And by trying them, you’d also get a chance to have a taste and in some way have an understanding of the place’s culture and traditions.

Good thing is, in Baguio City, there are several cafes/restaurants that offer such cuisines including the following:

  • Anidu Cordilleran Bistro
  • Cafe By the Ruins
  • Cafe Cueva
  • Cafe Yagam
  • Farmer’s Daughter Restaurant

So if you haven’t tried any Cordilleran dishes yet, maybe it’s time to visit these places.

4. Explore Baguio City’s Creative Side.

Baguio City has been designated as a UNESCO Creative City last year for Crafts and Folk Art. And it would be such an unforgettable and refreshing experience to have a firsthand encounter with either the local artists and understand their love for the arts or see their masterpieces personally.

Here are some of the places you can visit to see crafts by Baguio Artists:

  • Bencab Museum
  • Cinematheque
  • Tam-awan Village

5. Experience Night Market.

Baguio City has been known to thrive with ukay-ukays where you can buy branded clothes or shoes for a good deal. And your visit to Baguio City would not be complete if you have never tried walking around the Night Market to look for best deals and buy from the several stalls offering different kinds of street food.

Aim for a worthwhile visit to the City of Pines

Now that you have a clearer idea of the things that make Baguio City what it really is, you can now have a better understanding of it on your next visit and plan for a very meaningful trip.
