DOT: Accredited “Staycation Hotels” May Now Operate at Up To 100% Capacity

Staycation hotels may now operate at full capacity, according to a press briefing held by the Office of the Presidential Spokesperson on Friday.

As per the recommendations of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) Technical Working Group (TWG) stated on IATF Resolution No. 117, accommodation establishments accredited by the Department of Tourism (DOT) with Certificates of Authority to Operate for Staycation (“Staycation Hotels”) may accommodate guests for staycation purposes at up to 100% of their venue capacity.

Aside from increasing the operational capacity, staycation hotels may also remove COVID-19 testing of guests as a prerequisite for accommodation, according to IATF. Staycation hotels may only also accommodate individuals aged 18 to 65 as guests.

DOT-accredited accommodation establishments in areas under GCQ may accommodate guests for leisure purposes for up to 30% of their venue capacity provided that guests only come from the same household.
