Checking In: The Plaza Garden Hotel and Residences in Baguio City

In the rollicking highlands of the Philippines, known for its cool climate and the smell of pine trees, I stumbled upon an unexpected gem: The Plaza Garden Hotel and Residences in Baguio City. They had just rolled up their shutters, offering me a haven for four days and three nights during a business trip, booked efficiently via the Agoda platform.

Whoever said new isn’t better clearly hasn’t sunk into the plush Deluxe Queen Bed in my room at The Plaza Garden Hotel. The room was clean to a fault – every inch immaculate, every amenity inviting. If a room could smirk, this one did – exuding a nonchalant charm, daring me to ignore the call of its crisp sheets.

A Matter of Convenience

The small luxuries in life matter, especially the Wi-Fi that doesn’t make you want to hurl your laptop at the wall, and the breakfast that doesn’t taste like cardboard. This hotel gets that. Despite being in its infancy, their Wi-Fi could put any high-speed broadband to shame, and the breakfast – not a plethora of options, mind you – was a delightful surprise. Their location, though off the beaten path, kept the noise of Burnham Park and the Harrison Road Night Market at bay, making hailing a cab a necessary adventure.

Humanity Behind The Counter

What struck me about this hotel was the raw, unfiltered hospitality. The lack of intercoms meant that the staff was a quick text away, bridging the gap between formal room service and the friendly neighbor ready to lend a hand. You won’t find stuffy propriety here, only genuine service with a smile.

Beyond The Routine

Just when you think you’ve seen it all, The Plaza Garden throws you a curveball. Android TVs, my friends. Picture this: You, stretched out on a comfy bed, your favorite Netflix or Disney+ shows mere clicks away, courtesy of their lightning-fast internet. Suddenly, work trips don’t seem so dreary.

A Work In Progress

Look at all that space, a work table and chair would fit right in.

The T.V. at The Plaza Garden Hotel and Residences

It’s not all rosy. You see the signs of a work-in-progress – areas under construction, a bare lobby, a limited restaurant menu, a strange absence of a work table and chair in the room. But it’s like a painter with a half-finished canvas – the flaws are obvious, but you can see the masterpiece taking shape.

The Verdict

Look, no place is perfect, but The Plaza Garden Hotel and Residences comes close. Comfort? Check. Generous spaces? Check. Delicious food and accommodating staff? Double-check. I’m hard-pressed to give anything a 10, but this place is a solid 9. If you ever find yourself in Baguio City, make a beeline for this spot. You can thank me later.

The Real Deal

Despite the allure of Baguio City’s sights and tastes, my stay was all business. Yet the hotel’s offerings made it feel like anything but. The Plaza Garden has understood the art of turning the ordinary into extraordinary, and for that, I tip my hat. Looking forward to seeing how this place evolves on my next visit. Here’s to the promise of more good times. Cheers.

Note: Credibility in storytelling is key. Rest assured, this recounting of my experience at The Plaza Garden Hotel and Residences is authentic and unsponsored. Every element of my stay – from the room to the smallest hotel purchase – was personally financed. This narrative is shared in the spirit of truth and genuine review.
