Carlos Yulo Bags Second Olympic Gold in Men’s Vault Gymnastics





Carlos Yulo has made history once again at the 2024 Paris Olympics by securing his second gold medal in the men’s vault gymnastics event. Yulo’s performance was outstanding, scoring 15.433 in his first vault and 14.800 in his second, for an average total of 15.116. This win underscores his exceptional talent and determination, further solidifying his status as one of the top gymnasts in the world.

Yulo’s second gold follows his earlier triumph in the men’s floor exercise, where he scored an impressive 15.00, surpassing his competitors with a flawless routine. This initial victory was a historic moment for the Philippines, marking the first time a Filipino gymnast had won an Olympic gold medal. Yulo’s back-to-back victories at the Paris Olympics highlight his remarkable consistency and skill, making him a beacon of inspiration for athletes in the Philippines and beyond​.




In the men’s vault competition, Yulo outperformed Armenia’s Artur Davtyan, who secured second place with a score of 14.966, and Great Britain’s Harry Hepworth, who took third with a score of 14.949.

Carlos Yulo was born and raised in Manila, Philippines. He first gained international recognition by winning the floor exercise gold at the 2019 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, becoming the first Filipino to achieve such a feat. Over the years, he has earned numerous medals and honors, including multiple Asian and World Championship titles.

  4. Carlo Paalam – Competing in the quarterfinals of men’s 57kg boxing. Paalam, a silver medalist from Tokyo 2020, continues to demonstrate his prowess in the ring, aiming for another Olympic medal​.
