Benguet has been raised to an Orange Rainfall Warning as the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat continues to bring heavy rains over Northern Luzon.
PAGASA issued Heavy Rainfall Warning No. 9 at 11:00 p.m. on August 29, 2026, placing both Benguet and Pangasinan under the Orange Rainfall Warning.
Under the Orange Rainfall Warning, flooding and landslides are threatening in flood-prone and landslide-prone areas.
Benguet was previously under a Yellow Rainfall Warning in the 8:00 p.m. advisory before being raised to Orange at 11:00 p.m.
La Union and the Nueva Vizcaya municipalities of Aritao, Dupax del Sur, Kayapa, and Santa Fe are under a Yellow Rainfall Warning, where flooding and landslides are possible in flood-prone and landslide-prone areas.
Meanwhile, light to moderate, and at times heavy rains are being experienced in several other areas of Northern Luzon, including portions of Nueva Vizcaya, Aurora, Isabela, Quirino, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Kalinga, Ifugao, Mountain Province, and Abra.
These rains may persist within the next two to three hours and may affect nearby areas.
PAGASA advised the public and concerned Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Offices to continue monitoring weather conditions and take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with the ongoing rains.
Residents along mountain slopes are advised to remain alert for possible landslides, mudslides, rockslides, and flash floods.
The next Heavy Rainfall Warning is scheduled to be issued at 2:00 a.m. on August 30, 2026.
