Benguet Placed Under MECQ From May 10-23





The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) has issued Resolution No. 114-C, placing the province of Benguet under Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) from Monday, May 10, 2021 to Sunday, May 23, 2021.

According to the Public Information Office of the Benguet Province, the decision was upon the recommendation of the Screening and Validation committee due to the recent surge of COVID-19 cases and deaths in the province.





The bed capacity allocated for COVID-19 cases at Benguet General Hospital (BeGH) has also reached full capacity as more patients with severe symptoms have been admitted to the hospital.

Here are the MECQ guidelines, as per the Omnibus Guidelines with amendments released by the IATF as of May 6, 2021:

Benguet Governor Melchor Diclas will call for an emergency meeting with the Provincial IATF tomorrow for the localized guidelines which will be implemented for the duration of the MECQ and will be geared towards decreasing the number of cases in the province.
