Baguio City Records New COVID-19 Case After Two Days into MGCQ

UPDATE June 17, 2026 10:57 AM:

Just after two days into MGCQ, Baguio City has recorded its 35th COVID-19 case as another health worker tested positive for the disease.

Previously, the city has recorded two new cases, which made the total number of active cases in the city to 4. These previously recorded cases included a returning Baguio worker and a resident of Apugan, Kennon Road.

Health Worker in Baguio City Tests Positive for COVID-19

According to Mayor Benjamin Magalong and City Health Officer Dr. Rowena Galpo, the latest case is a 38-year old male who works as a nurse at the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC).

Furthermore, they revealed that he is a resident of South Central Aurora Hill and that his swab results came in positive today.

While the patient is now admitted at the isolation facility of BGHMC, they are now working on contact tracing and disinfection.
