Baguio City Expands Age-Based Restriction to 17 Years Old Starting Today
The City Government of Baguio has expanded the age group of people who are prohibited from going outside of their residence, subject to certain exceptions.
The announcement came on Sunday after the authorities have noticed an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases belonging in the age group of one (1) to seventeen (17) years old, with one hundred sixty-four (164) confirmed cases recorded from August 1 to 20.
Since the concerned age group is not yet qualified to receive any COVID-19 vaccinations, Mayor Benjamin Magalong has decided to temporarily increase the restriction to mitigate any further risk in the youth sector of the city.
