Baguio City authorized temporary closure of Session road in all Sundays of February 2022

The City Government of Baguio has authorized the closure of Session road on all Sundays of February 2022, specifically February 6, 13, 20, and 27. The authorization of the closure of the most popular road in Baguio City was done through Executive order no. 17 series of 2022 signed by Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong.

The reason for the closure

According to the Executive order, the closure of Session road will be for the purposes of holding the Sunday Market activities. The Sunday market activities were temporarily halted last month because of the surge of COVID-19 cases in the city. With the continuing decline in the number of daily cases as observed during the last week of January until yesterday, the Local Government Unit of Baguio city saw that it is time for residents to once again enjoy the outdoor spaces of the city.

Areas to be closed

Both lanes of Session road will be closed to traffic. The closed section will start from the junction of Magsaysay Avenue to the rotunda in front of the Baguio City Post Office. The closure of Session road will start from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
