Baguio City Accommodation Establishments Urged to Disallow Leisure Travel Bookings until April 4





The Office of the City Mayor of Baguio City has released an advisory on Wednesday, March 31, 2021, regarding the operation of accommodation establishments here in the city until April 4, 2021.

This is in addition to the implemented guidelines in the City of Baguio now that its General Community Quarantine (GCQ) status has been extended until April 30, 2021 along with the rest of the Cordillera Administrative Region.

According to Advisory No. 04-2021, the City will adhere to the Advisory of the Department of Tourism regarding the operation of accommodation establishments from Monday, March 29, 2021, to Sunday, April 4, 2021.

As per DOT Advisory No. 1 series of 2020, accommodation establishments shall limit operation to those as isolation or quarantine hotels. Regular hotels are only allowed to admit the following:

  • Guests with long-term lease
  • Locally Stranded Individuals (LSIs)
  • Authorized Persons Outside of Residence; and
  • Guests traveling for purposes of work or business

Therefore, leisure travelers may not be accommodated until April 4, 2021.



According to the City Mayor’s Office, the city will be adhering to the DOT advisory with the goal of reducing transmission and limiting mobility during this current surge of confirmed cases.

Staycation for local residents

According to the Public Information Office of Baguio, local residents on staycation in the accommodation establishments will be allowed.

Prior to the advisory, under Executive Order No. 46, or the prescribing guidelines for the City of Baguio while it is under GCQ, it was originally intended that leisure travel for travelers arriving from areas outside of the NCR+ or other areas under GCQ or MGCQ are allowed.
