All UK Flights to PH Suspended Starting Tomorrow

Today, December 23, 2020 (Wednesday), it was announced through the official Facebook page of the Office of the Presidential Spokesperson that all United Kindom (UK) flights to the Philippines will be temporarily suspended starting tomorrow, December 24, 2020 (Thursday), until December 31, 2020 (Thursday).

It was stated on the announcement that the temporary suspension of all flights from the UK to PH starting 12:01 AM tomorrow until December 31, 2020, was approved yesterday by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque stated that all passengers who have been in the UK within 14 days immediately preceding arrival to the PH, including those merely in transit, are also temporarily restricted from entering the country for the same period.

“On the other hand, passengers already in transit from the UK and all those who have been to the UK within 14 days immediately preceding arrival to the Philippines, who arrive before 12:01AM of December 24, 2020, shall not be subject to entry restriction but they would be required to undergo stricter quarantine and testing protocols,” Presidential Spokesperson Roque added.

In Roque’s statement, he stated that such protocols include the observation of an absolute 14-day quarantine period at the Athlete’s Village in the New Clark City, notwithstanding a negative RT-PCR test result.

Also, “outbound travel to the UK shall likewise be subject to the existing exit protocols of the Philippines and the UK,” Roque stated.
