Government Work Suspension on September 28 for Family Week
The Office of the President has issued Memorandum Circular No. 136, announcing the suspension of work in all national government agencies and instrumentalities, including government-owned or -controlled corporations and state universities and colleges, on September 28, 2026. This suspension is in observance of the 34th National Family Week.
The suspension will begin at 1:00 PM, allowing government workers to participate in activities related to Family Week. However, agencies involved in essential services such as health, disaster response, and other critical operations will continue to function as usual.
The memorandum encourages other branches of government, independent commissions, and the private sector to consider similar suspensions to enable Filipino families to fully celebrate Family Week.
This directive takes effect immediately, as stated in the circular dated September 16, 2026, from the City of Manila.
