Cebu Pacific Increases Hand Carry Allowance to 10kg Starting September 15
Excerpt: Cebu Pacific is updating its hand carry baggage policy beginning September 15, 2026, allowing passengers on Cebu Pacific (5J) flights to bring up to 10kg in combined hand carry items. Cebgo (DG) flights will retain the existing 7kg combined limit.
Passengers flying with Cebu Pacific will soon be allowed to bring a heavier hand carry allowance under the airline’s updated baggage policy.
Starting September 15, 2026, passengers on Cebu Pacific (5J) flights may bring hand carry items with a combined weight of up to 10kg.
Meanwhile, passengers traveling on flights operated by Cebgo (DG) will continue to have a combined hand carry allowance of up to 7kg.
The combined weight applies to both the passenger’s main hand carry baggage and personal item.
What Passengers Can Bring On Board
Under the updated policy, each passenger may bring a maximum of two hand carry items:
- One hand carry baggage, which must be stored in the overhead bin
- One personal item, which must fit under the seat in front of the passenger
For Cebu Pacific 5J flights, the two items must have a combined weight of no more than 10kg.
For Cebgo DG flights, the combined weight must remain within 7kg.
Hand Carry Size Limits
Aside from the weight restrictions, passengers must also make sure their bags comply with Cebu Pacific’s size requirements.
Hand Carry Baggage
The main hand carry item may measure up to:
56 cm × 36 cm × 23 cm
This bag must be placed in the overhead compartment.
Personal Item
The personal item may measure up to:
20 cm × 35 cm × 20 cm
It should be small enough to fit under the seat in front of the passenger.
Passengers Should Be Able to Lift Their Own Bags
Cebu Pacific also reminded passengers that they should be able to comfortably lift and stow their own hand carry baggage in the overhead bin or place their personal item under the seat.
According to the airline, keeping bags within the prescribed number, size, and weight limits is intended to help make boarding more efficient and allow crews to complete pre-departure procedures on time.
What Happens If Your Bag Exceeds the Limit?
Hand carry baggage that exceeds the airline’s permitted weight, dimensions, or number of pieces may have to be checked in.
Applicable baggage fees may apply.
Passengers who expect to bring more luggage are encouraged to purchase checked baggage allowance in advance or add baggage through Cebu Pacific’s Manage Booking portal using their MyCebuPacific account.
